Noise Attenuation
Noise attenuation is achieved by decreasing the intensity or volume of sound in a controlled environment. There are many noise attenuation strategies that are employed in industrial settings. One of the most effective and logical approaches to noise attenuation is in designing systems that produce less noise from the start. Things like specially engineered low-noise equipment and selected ductwork can bring sound levels down by many decibels. Sound enclosures can also contribute to noise attenuation when used to isolate loud equipment and processes.
SysTech works with the leading manufacturers of noise attenuation products and equipment, including dB Noise Reduction, Sound Barriers, Inc. and Noise Suppression Technologies. We will design and implement noise attenuation at every level, employing noise control techniques such as:
Damping – a method of reducing noise in chutes, hoppers, machine guards, conveyors, panels and more
Fan Installations – efficiently operating low noise fans and fan silencers contribute significantly to noise attenuation
Acoustic and thermal blankets/wraps - attenuate noise from the fan housing
Adjusting Fan Speed – Fan noise is in direct correlation with fan speed, so simple adjustments can produce significant results
Duct – lining ventilation systems with acoustic absorbent material such as foam or fiberglass will effectively decrease airborne noise
Vibration Isolation Pads – Anti-vibration machine mounts constructed of materials such as neoprene or cork will reduce transmission of noise created by vibration.
Acoustic flexible connectors – serve a dual purpose containing noise generated by the fan blade and that induced by vibration.
