Cincinnati Fan has a new motor option which is an Electronically Commutated Motor
(ECM), the right choice for ventilation systems applications requiring NFOs.
Infinitum Motor shown on a Cincinnati PB horizontal mounted
The Infinitum brushless motor (ECM,) has an integrated variable frequency drive (VFD),
a motor and drive in one package, which affords adjustable airflow for some system
designs. Presently, it is a motor option with the Cincinnati Fan PB, SPB, and HDBI
models.
The advantages of using an Infinitum ECM motor instead of a convention motor include:
- Efficiency increases up to 25%
- Size and weight is reduced by almost 50%
- Noise levels are significantly reduced 30%, in some cases
- Short lead times to Cincinnati for subsequent fan assembly
Where is this type of motor applied?
General air movement and applications that have static pressures up to 15” WG. Specifically, small dust collection projects are a perfect fit and generally any application
that requires a VFD for airflow adjustment. Common usage is on/off functionality with
manual speed control and digital display.
What are its limitations?
- Available for HM applications only
- Up to 15-inch SP
- 460 V Only
